Now that we're good and into this new year, let's fiiinally get around to chatting about books. It's about time. ;)

So, yay, 2018 was another record-breaking year in books for me! 2017 held my previous record of 55 books, and this year I finished 57! I had so much fun with it. I read so many different types of books. I joined used book groups for trading. I did Booktube-a-thon for the first time and loved every second of it. Favorite of the year...ah, so tough.

I LOVED the Jenny Han series. She's responsible for To All The Boys I've Loved Before so of course that was going to be good. I had many late nights reading those and I was hooooked.

I also really liked Evelyn Hugo, Guernsey, The Royal We, The Husband's Secret, Second Chance Summer was heartbreakingly beautiful, and Very Good Lives was brilliant. Briiiiiillliant.

Oh gosh and the small Fredrik Bachman I read. Gorgeous.

caught in my natural habitat this summer

Weirdest? Okay BY FAR....Made for Love. You will never look at dolphins the same again. The entire book I kept thinking, "what the hell is going on". It was like a bizarre project for a creative writing course. However, The Astonishing Color of After was also super weird (but beautiful), and Lincoln In the Bardo was also super strange (but surprisingly touching).

Worst? I'm going to say No Filter, because while making this list I could recall 0 things about it, lol. I actually had to go back and read the premise and I only vaguely remember it.

So, next year....I'm going to TRY to mostly read books off my shelves.

I have over 50 unread books in my house that desperately need me to get to them, so my goal is to read at least half of them. I did a pretty good job of picking things for my 2019 list that I already own - but I know that it will grow because I get so wooed by new releases and seeing what everyone is loving!

There are SO many more I'd like to read, but I set my goal at 40 books again this year because I really don't want too much pressure. I want this entire year to feel like sloooow, smooooth, naturally occurring ease. As much as possible, at least. So I'm being conservative.

And whatever I plan to read never quiiite goes according to plan. So we shall see.

I'd really like to read the Snow In Love anthology, The Hating Game, and Becoming to name just a few more. ;) Can't stop won't stop!!!

I've got a wide array of woo-woo, young adult, nonfiction, and adult fiction in there. All my greatest hits. I can't wait to get into it!!! I'm currently working through Crazy Rich Asians (though by the time this publishes I may be finished with it). I am SO excited to get to the movie for that one!

So, have you read any of these? Loved or hated any? Got any tips or high-fives to give me on any of these? Give me alllll your bookish thoughts, please!

Have a great weekend, and a happy reading year!

See ya Monday...if you're not too busy reading books. ;)
