Pt. 5 - A quarantiney weekend.

DAY NINE - March 23, 2020

Kitchen table school supply center

Yesterday the whole fam loaded up and went to Matt's parent's house to pack up his work stuff and collect all the usable food and household supplies we could find. They are snow bunnies who spend the cool months in Florida, so their house was not only unoccupied, but its contents wouldn't be used for months. It was a whirlwind of activity for about an hour and a half, and it ended with an Instacart delivery at home. So then came a lot of disinfecting, organizing, and cleaning. By dinner, Matt had a new work station, the pantry was totally reorganized and stocked, the mudroom was clean, and I set up a new school supply station for the kitchen table. Many areas of the house are still in chaos, but these things gave the place a sense of freshness and more security with all the things we added to our supply. I'm super glad we did that!

Today is gloomy and rainy, and mixed with yesterday's hard work, we're feeling a little tired. For a while there, I thought I might actually fall asleep, and I never sleep during the day. Yawn.

We had a great weekend. On Friday evening, we had a birthday party for our cats. I know, our quarantine is showing. We had tuna melts for dinner (hahaha) and baked a birthday cake that we of course ate on their behalf. On Saturday, we built a huge fort in the living room and played Animal Crossing as a family until we got too sleepy. We all slept in the fort - even the pets! Galli was my snuggle buddy.
